Ecocerts are environmental that standardizes environmental impact. Just as carbon credits created a data market for measuring and implementing carbon reduction, hypercerts create a market for ecological data collection and verification.
You can mint and purchase ecocerts in our marketplace - .
There are three main key components in the structure of a hypercert: the boundaries of the work (who made the impact when, and what work has been done), provided evidence (proof of work), and evaluations from third parties that attest to its impact. This framework creates an immutable record that links to both the provided evidence and public datasets.
1. The boundaries of work:
Who: the contributors involved
What: the scope of the work
When: the timeframe during which the work was completed
Where: the physical location where the work is being done.
Proof of Work:
Any environmental data can be attached to the ecocert to show as evidence of the work done. Examples of environmental data include (but is not limited to) photos (eg of individual trees, animals, or of the site), videos, drone imagery, bioacoustic data, and more.
3. Evaluations:
Reports and evaluations can be submitted by both the projects themselves and independent third-party evaluators. This provides funders with insights as to which projects are the most impactful.
The market price of the hypercert is determined by the amount of money it takes to create the work stated in the hypercert, plus an additional "profit" premium, which we recommend to be 20%, which goes towards the projects themselves.
Our ecocerts are non-transferrable.
